COVID-19 MEASURES FOR TRAVEL INTO ECUADOR
We’d like to share with you the latest Ecuadorian government update regarding entry to the country.
The previous restrictions for certain countries and the curfews established now no longer apply. The rules for all travelers are as follows:
Several countries, including the United States and England, will introduce a requirement that returning travelers show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within the previous days.
We are therefore pleased to offer our assistance in coordinating PCR COVID-19 tests and results for international guests who require these tests, either a) at the airport in Quito on their return from the Galapagos Islands or b) at Casa Gangotena, any urban Quito hotel, or hotels in Guayaquil. Test results take up to 24 hours to be delivered, so we suggest itineraries are adapted to allow time before return international flights — and that you keep up to date with the latest rules that apply for your guests in their country of origin.
The coordination and PCR testing costs in Quito and Guayaquil will be free of charge for those who enjoy a cruise aboard one of our expedition vessels or a package at the Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel. For other guests, our complimentary assistance only extends to coordinating the tests and results: test costs will need to be paid by guests directly to the government-approved laboratory.
As always, your Destination Expert will be pleased to answer any doubts you may have, keep you up to date with any developments and assist you every step of the way.
