Can I travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands?

Yes. Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands have been open for travel without disruption since July 2020. The country and its archipelago went through a very successful vaccination campaign. 99% of the Galapagos population has been fully vaccinated.

What are Ecuador and Galapagos’ entry requirements?

  • Proof of vaccination (complete scheme) with at least 14 days of validity from the date of completion, whether as a QR code or as a certificateOr
  • A laboratory-certified negative result of an RT-PCR COVID-19 test taken up to 72 hours before their flight departure. See the list of authorized laboratories here.

All travelers must present the digital Traveler’s Health Declaration when boarding the plane for their journey to Ecuador. The form can be filled out online using the following link. A printed version can also be filled out before or upon arrival.

Notes for Ecuador entry:

  • Health officials will also check travelers for symptoms related to COVID-19. Suspected cases will be required to have an on-the-spot test. If the result is positive, travelers will need to isolate for 10 days in accommodation of their choice and at their expense. In the event that the test result is negative, the traveler may continue with their trip.

The rules for traveling to the Galapagos Islands are the same as those for Ecuador.

Notes for Galapagos entry:

  • Galapagos Transit Control Card will need to be completed online (or at the airport) before the flight.
  • travel insurance certificate is required.
