Our adventure began on Baltra Island which is located close to the island of Santa Cruz. We arrived at Punta Vicente Roca, where we took our first panga ride to explore along the coast. We searched for animals: penguins, boobies, and pelicans that are easy to find in their nesting places. A memorable experience in Galapagos was about to begin.
Then we went snorkelling. The sea was very clear and there were perfect conditions for photographs of the many sea turtles that we encountered.
As the day passed, the experience was getting better and better. We met a group of dolphins feeding in the Bolivar Canal, which I pointed out to everyone. Suddenly someone shouted “Whale!” correctly identifying a group of pilot whales, which were looking for food. This show lasted for half an hour, then we continued our navigation towards Fernandina Island, one of the youngest islands. It was a beautiful experience to be so close to such gigantic creatures.
